Briatico

Briatico is an  unmissable stop with its wonderful seaside roadway situated on the first step of this splendid many-coloured and uniquely-terraced coast. The very famous promenade of Briatico partly faces the gulf of Lamezia Terme, offering suggestive views in the full-moon  nights, and partly the Eolie Islands, moving the romantic with its enchanting sunsets. Briatico is full of beaches, cliffs and bays that follow one another. The first one , if you go along the coast  from North to South, is “Trainiti”, immediately followed by “Baia Safo”; then you find a long beach which ”Reaces “Marina”, characteerized by a small port, and then changes into a cliff called “Cocca”. If you go on ypur way you will reach the cliff “La Vrace”, then the characteristic beach “St. Joseph” immediately followed by “St. Irene”. Moreover Briatico is known for its numerous and exclusive restaurants with the following gastronomic specialities: fish-soups, fried calamaries, grilled tuna and the fry of “ Pisci Surici”  (fish surici). Its also famous for its feasts and village festivals. Briatico is also an historical and cultural centre thanks to its famous XVI century Rocchetta situed just on the seashore. In the old-built-up area you can visit the remains of the medieval Castle
